What do you prefer for website backgrounds?

Something simple

Something pretty but dimmed so as not to take too much attention

Other- and if so-what?

I'm for subtle backgrounds too! Anything flashy or busy hurts my eyes and I don't stick around.

I patterns that reflect the theme of the website but not so you can't read the letters like deep pink on brown where you have to strain your eyes to read the lettering. Good contrast.
Hope this helps!

Definitely plainer--white is good too, or a very pale color.
I don't like those with too much pattern in them, I find them distracting.
I really don't like black with white lettering--I find that verrry hard to read.

Something pretty but simple. There ARE backgrounds that can drive you crazy! Too busy or too bright. I like pink (newsflash, lol) and also hot pink but not for a blog background. Often those colors hurt your eyes when you read or look at them for a while.

My blog background is a peachy pink with a small ribbon on the side. Go check out www.thecutestblogontheblock.com They have pretty back grounds
