Posted - Jul 18 2006 : 5:07:39 PM Fellow farmgirls,
I have recently self-published my first little book, entitled A Dictionary of Simplicity. To describe it briefly, it is a lexicon of words pertaining to [or interfering with] the Life Lived Simply. Each word is accompanied by a somewhat unconventional definition of my own devising. The book is 32 pages long, printed on brown paper with a creamy-colored cover, and hand-bound with silk thread. For each signed copy, I am asking $20 US (shipping included). Please email me if you are interested!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Ann Barlow (who is so excited to have finally churned out a little book!)

Posted - Aug 10 2006 : 03:43:24 AM Just a little update:
The books are now hand-bound with linen thread, since I have finally been able to get my hands on some. I think the linen will have a better hold, and it is one of my favorite fibers. However, the silk thread is very pretty, so if anyone would prefer their copy done with silk I can still accomodate that (in cream, green, or mauve - I've been to the fabric store!). :)
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Ann

Posted - Jul 20 2006 : 12:12:12 PM Dear farmgirls,
My technologically able sister has kindly allowed me to "borrow" a page on her website on which to post pictures of my book. This is much easier than trying to email them out on my excrutiatingly slow computer, I must say! You may view the pictures at this address:

Elizabeth Ann
P.S. My apologies if the pictures are as slow to load on your computers as they are on mine! |

P.S. Catherine, I am emailing yours at this very moment, on my excrutiatingly slow computer.

Posted - Jul 19 2006 : 04:00:44 AM P.S. I would post the photos here, but I'm so infrequently online lately that I don't have any way to host images. I hope it is alright with everyone to receive the pictures through email. I'll take one of the cover, and one of an inside page. Off I go to the photo shoot!

Posted - Jul 19 2006 : 03:55:31 AM Hello ladies,
Thank you for your interest! I don't have any pictures of the book just yet, but I could certainly take some today (aren't digital cameras handy?). It looks like it will be a nice sunny day, so hopefully I can get some pretty shots. I would be happy to email them to anyone who is interested - just email me and let me know, and I'll try to have them ready by this afternoon. For those of you who wish to wait a little bit until the budget allows, don't worry - I can always make up a copy especially for you at any time. I'll never sell out as long as my printer keeps working.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Ann

Posted - Jul 18 2006 : 6:22:25 PM I AM interested, but don't have the cash-flow right now! Maybe in a month or so I can squeeze out a little from the budget. Set one aside for me!
