http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5004999

The listing is for custom scented which I am happy to do, however I find myself sitting on an extra bag of lavender. :)

Soap is $9 + $8.50 shipping due to weight.

Babs, I am ready to buy this Gardenia scented laundry soap.
Do you have some right now? And, should I just order it right off your etsy site?

Thanks!
Faith

Faith, if you'd like one, I'll just make up an extra while I'm working on Liz's order and have it here for you so it's ready when you are. :)

As to the flame retardant-ness... flame-retardant chemicals break down over time and are dispersed into the air and dust present in homes. Research is finding that the retardant-laden dust particles are found in human tissue because they are then inhaled.

To that end, if you have used any soap that did not say it was retardant safe, or any sort of fabric softener, it's probably already compromised. My product WILL remove some, but not all of the fire retardant chemicals. If you are purposely trying to remove this chemical (which is really horrible stuff and childrens skin absorbs it affecting the liver and thyroid hormones) add vinegar to the wash every time you run it through. It will help but there will probably still be some in the fibers. If providing your child with flame protection is of greater importance (and its a decision we all have made at some point - so no judgements here) then I would suggest buying new, and washing in plain water and hang dry. The agitation alone should be enough to clean a pajama. Also wool, nylon and polyester are naturally fire resistant. :)

babs, I would SO love to have Gardenia scented laundry!!!

I'm going to order some when this jug of detergent runs out.
Do you usually have some in stock?
And do you know whether the soap destroys the 'flame-retardant' treatments on kid's pajamas?
Faith

Yeah the shipping is a problem with Etsy. I have the same problem when people are ordering a lotion bar and a spritzer -- no way to have Etsy calculate the correct shipping amount. I would just recommend putting a note in the listing that says what Liz suggested -- that when multiple items are ordered you will to send an invoice with the correct shipping. Guess I need to take that advice too and put it in my listings. I just hate to overcharge anyone on shipping -- it's so high to start with. And being able to get 4 packages in a flat rate box is a good point to put in your listing -- would save people on shipping and more sales for you!

I have seen others put notes with their items that if you're ordering more than one item and paying with paypal to wait for a new invoice so the shipping can be calculated correctly but that's I'll I've seen so far.

Can't wait to get my laundry soap!

Kay,

I can fit 4 packages of soap into a flat rate box!

The problem is I haven't figured out how to make etsy properly calculate shipping. At this point I am setting up special orders that contain your items so I can make sure you aren't being charged an extra 4.50 because you want candles, or 8.50 3x because you want so many bags of soap.

If anyone knows a better trick, I'm all ears. :)

Hey Nance,
Thanks for the bookmark, enjoy your time in France! I was looking at grape vines for the garden the other day and thought of you. :)

Missy,
I'm ***extremely*** lucky that my hubby is a packaging designer and has worked for top fortune 500 companies. He freelances from home now and I am really enjoying our time together. Of course the bonus is that he's here and handy when I need wood brought in. ;) <kidding>

Babs -- I'm so excited about your laundry detergent and candles! I added you to my Etsy favorites and will be buying some when hubby gets paid on the 16th! Also, just a suggestion regarding shipping -- you can use a priority mail flat rate box for $8.10 and probably get lots of items in it -- anything up to 72 lbs that will fit in the box. You can order the flat rate boxes from usps.com and they will be delivered right to your door.

Greetings, Babs! Just took a look at your etsy site and have added it to my favorites. We just got back to France, so I will write a note on the calendar to place an order closer to when we return in the spring. LOVE the name of your product line; too! Have a great day in that kitchen! Nance
