Posted - Aug 04 2026 : 9:48:55 PM My niece Krista, husband Jake, and their four adorable children came to my farm for five days. They left this morning and I am really missing the sound of happy children running around, playing card games, and helping me with projects. My brother, Rex (Krista's father), and his wife Sheryl also visited.
Krista's children are truly remarkable. I never saw them in a disagreement amongst themselves, not even once! They played so well together. They hopped right up after meals to clean the kitchen and do the dishes. And, they were a big help on my prairie for three hours in the hot sun, hauling hoses, and marking holes for new trees. Later that day, they helped me plant three new fruit trees, a peach, a prune/plum, and a cherry. They paid close attention to what I was teaching/showing them and 100% went after the tasks I assigned. Can you tell I'm smitten?!
Good job Krista and Jake!!!!
