Please pray for Christian. He is very ill.
He is the son of one of the familes in our homeschool group.
If you can, would you send me a 6 1/2 inch block that is knit or crocheted? We are putting afghans together to auction, raffle, etc to help the family with expenses. Mom is sleeping in the hospital room as Ronald McDonald's House is full. They live a 45 minute drive from the hospital and Dad has to work or he doesn't get paid. He has no vacation or sick time.
Their two daughters are staying with another homeschool group family. So we want to help them with food.

This is what I got from the family:
On Tuesday, April 19th, Christian was admitted to Texas Children's Hospital and the following day was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. His parents Jack and Danielle have previously endured the heart breaking loss of their son, Jackson, to SIDS seven years ago. The Smith family is asking for prayers and a miracle for their son, Christian. Please join us in praying. Please pray also for his sisters, Kyleigh and Jillian.
From what I gather, this is an inflammation/swelling of the spinal cord. This poor 8 month old has had MRIs, CAT scans, spinal taps, etc. He is having muscle and nerve problems in his extremities. He is only in Stage 2 treatment and Stage 3 and Stage 4 are going to be very rough on him. It isn't menningitis, it is worse because they think it is an auto-immune.
The update that we got yesterday at the Homeschool Co-op was very poor. My friend Cathy will be sending me a link to his site and I will post it.
