Posted - Apr 26 2011 : 11:14:10 AM I am asking for prayers to help my family and myself through the unexpected and very shocking loss of my mother. She was a rock and we all leaned on her. She went in to the hospital to have an intestinal blockage checked, ended up having surgery, all went fine with the surgery and the while they were closing she had a massive heart attack and they could do nothing. She loved "Maxine" and was one of those women that was always strong no matter what her personal battles were and she had way too many. She always said " if God brings you to it, he will help you get through it, trust in this! The realization of this has not sunk in, all I feel is the emptiness, I am trying to fill that with good memories. Thank you Sisters

Posted - Apr 27 2011 : 12:07:48 PM How devasating. Know that your mom would be whispering that mantra in your ear these days. I can't imagine the shock you must all feel, and I am thinking of you during this sad time.

Posted - Apr 27 2011 : 09:02:05 AM Thank you sisters for you encouraging words. I really need them to get through every minute of the day, its hard to do the things that must be done. We do feel blessed that she has no more pain, the last few weeks we believe she covered up a lot of it. Yes God gained a wonderful soul and she had earned those wings... daily!

Posted - Apr 27 2011 : 06:58:06 AM Cindy, this must be an awful time for you. You quoted one of her sayings. Lean on that and on the One who gives us life and the One who needs her with Him now. She must have been a wonderful woman, and I stand by you in your loss. Although very shocking for you, she went without pain and a long drawn out illness. Will keep you in my prayers.

Posted - Apr 27 2011 : 06:42:37 AM Cindy - so sorry for your loss, we lost my MIL last week, she was 91 and quite ill but while she too was in the hospital, we never expected her to pass away, I couldnt believe it when we were summoned to the hospital in the middle of the night. My thoughts on your mom, God wanted her to join him, he has other plans for her now, try to remember all the fond memories of her and they will make you proud and smile! |

Posted - Apr 26 2011 : 11:36:46 AM *hugs* How shocking and horrible. I am very very sorry for your loss. You doing the right thing right now, leaning on God. God does not ever wish to give any one pain, for he is the happy God, loving, kind and just. But, right now sometimes we do have to endure much pain, thankfully we have his word to show us we won't always have this pain to bear.
Romans 8:22-24
For we know that all creation keeps on groaning together and being in pain together until now. 23 Not only that, but we ourselves also who have the firstfruits, namely, the spirit, yes, we ourselves groan within ourselves, while we are earnestly waiting for adoption as sons, the release from our bodies by ransom. 24 For we were saved in [this] hope
Revelations 21:3-5
With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, because these words are faithful and true.”
