Posted - May 12 2011 : 6:29:41 PM My stepdaughter just sent me this prayer request for her baby boy. Our pediatrician referred us to the Casey Eye Institute to have a specialist look at baby PJ. I was expecting to hear that maybe he would need glasses, not that we need an MRI to rule out the possibility of a brain tumor. So he is scheduled for the next available infant mri in june but I have to call daily to see if there are any cancellations so he can be seen sooner. So if you could pray for my baby I would really appreciate it.

Posted - May 27 2011 : 08:09:45 AM Praise the Lord! Yes, we will continue to pray, that his development and lack of symptoms astonish Drs. God is awesome, and little PJ can be a testimony. So happy its not a tumor. Hugs for the whole family!

Posted - May 27 2011 : 06:26:52 AM Praise report. Also I am praying that no matter what is "seen" in the natural God's supernatural will amaze the doctors.
Thank you for your prayers. The baby does not have a brain tumor. He does have a condition called septo optic dysplasia. It is a rare genetic disorder that affects only 1 in 10,000 births. He will hopefully be a high functioning example of this disorder. So far things look good for him. He is missing the membrane that separates the right and left ventricle of the brain and he has underdeveloped optic nerves. The good news is that he has his corpus collosum which is sometimes missing in children w this condition. So 90 percent of people w this condition are legally blind but he does have vision. We won't know how much till he is older. The condition frequently affects the pituitary gland but so far all the tests the endocrenologist ordered have come back normal. So we will take care of any symptoms as they arise. I am just grateful that my little guy will get to grow up.
