So, my step-father-in-law battled esophageal cancer last year. By February he was given the all clear.

Yesterday night he was driven to the hospital in an ambulance with a bowel blockage. They did surgery last night, and discovered that the blockage was a tumor, right beside a whole bunch of other turmors. The cancer has metatacised (sp?) and has spread throughout his body. His wife, my mother-in-law, found out today-we all found out last night, but wanted the doctor to tell her and to be there to answer any questions.

I watched as my mother-in-laws world was completely demolished. He doesn't want to fight the cancer, either.

If you could please keep the whole family in your thoughts and prayers, I'd appreciate it.

Megan,
I'm so sorry to hear about the cancer. Have had to deal with cancer situations in my family and it's SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to know the right direction to go, to support a family member in their decisions and desires.
I am praying for you and your family . . . for the entire situation.

Elaine, Nini, Darlene, Kristin, Jonni, Grace, and Judy. Thank you. Each and every one of you. I realize that it's his life, and that it's HIS decision what to do with it. None of us have to physically go through the pain. My mother in law is a saint, and my heart just breaks for her, since she will live it secondhandedly, and have to continue to live with it after he passes. She herself battled breast cancer about 20 years ago. Cancer is such a horrible epidemic.

I've given my in-laws space today. I think I may text my sister-in-law tomorrow and see if there's anything I can bring to them tomorrow. I was anointed at church last night, and I kept praying "God, ONLY YOU decide if it's really terminal, and if he passes, you are STILL on the throne." I hope that my FIL is saved, but, I don't think he is. I talked with my pastor about it. I think my MIL is, but I'm not sure about him.

I will keep your family in my prayers, I've been there too, my father would not fight the cancer until it was too late and he was too sick to do anything about it.

God Bless

My Dearest Megan - I will place your family in the prayer circle and know that love, light and healing is on it's way. I wrap my arms around you and give you the peace you need during this extremely hard time. I know what that looks like - I have walked that path four times with loved ones - my heart is with you..

I'm really sorry, Megan. It's very sad, but it sounds like he's resolute in that he doesn't chemo or radiation again. Will be thinking of your whole family.

Megan, I'm praying as I'm typing and will continue to think of all of you. Remember, you are surrounded by angels; look to them for strength and peace.

Hugs and more hugs to you,
Darlene
