Posted - Jun 24 2009 : 06:32:37 AM Is anyone out there into Christian fiction as much as I am. I really love it! For me personally, I don't have to upset with language and other things. That is just me in my older age. I love the stories, they bring hope to a crazy world. Rae

Posted - Oct 03 2009 : 05:36:17 AM Little House is awesome and I have a couple kids at school reading it with me for a class :-) There is so much garbage out there so nice to have something decent to read. I just started Who Do I Talk to? by Neta Jackson. It is #2 in the Yada Yada House of Hope Series. Read all the Yada Yada, they were great and this series is good so far as well. Lauraine Snelling is really good, I like that series! Rae

Posted - Oct 02 2009 : 8:49:48 PM I like these books too. I've been sitting here with a pen and sheet of paper, writing all the authors down for the next library trip! I have read/am reading Janette Oke (love her), Beverly Lewis, and was just introduced to Lauraine Snelling by another farmgirl. I'm on book 2 of the Red River of the North series - so good. I know it's not really *Christian* fiction, but I still go back and read the Little House series every year around this time. It really makes me remember to be thankful for what we have and remind me that it is okay to not "go crazy" trying to give ($) more than we can because we can give (love and warmth and friendship) and that's enough. I love that series.

Posted - Aug 03 2009 : 12:16:10 PM I just finished Quaker Summer and Plain Perfect, two separate novels that were packaged in one volume. I really liked Plain Perfect, it was a good old-fashioned love story set in Lancaster. Loved it.
Quaker Summer was a bit of a difficult read, but so, so worth it. It's definitely struck a chord with me and I whole-heartedly recommend it.

Posted - Aug 03 2009 : 11:17:17 AM Most of my reading is Christian fiction. Since I live near Amish country in Lancaster County, PA, Beverly Lewis and Wanda Brunsetter are two of my favorites. Also love Kim Vogel Sawyer and Cindy Woodsmall.
I have a local used book store that takes in books on trade for a discount on "new" used books. Great way to stock up on our favorite authors!

Posted - Jul 29 2009 : 7:02:56 PM That is why I stick pretty much to the Christian fiction, there is a good wholesome message in the book. I feel good when I am done with the story and it also inspires me to keep my life closer to God. Rae

Posted - Jul 29 2009 : 5:34:24 PM I love Christian fiction. It brings me a sense of peace and escape, and joy. I used to feel guilty about it, because it is not what the world calls great literature. And I felt I should be reading that. I love old classic lit, but some of the new Pulitzer prize winning books make me depressed! I have given that up! I want to spend my time being sustained and uplifted, if I can. Life brings enough "reality".
I like Lauraine Snelling, Karen Kingsbury, and the books that have four novels in one about different states and parts of the country when it was just beginning. There are even some about the Canadian frontier. I like Janette Oke and Lori Wick and I have found a new author (to me) Robert Whitlow, the John Grisham of Christian fiction.
