Posted - Jan 19 2010 : 07:06:43 AM I have just been watching an Oprah episode and in it she was talking about her (then) latest book club selection: Say you're on of us" by Uwem Akpan. She also said that Americans hardly ever (almost never) read foreign authors.
Is that true It sound strange to me because even though we have many many Dutch authors (good and bad ones lol) we Dutch also read many (maybe even the majority) foreign authors. I know I do, lol. ONLY foreign authors for me because I just don't like reading Dutch language books. Many, many Dutch authors are translated into other languages too, but I still don't read them ( I am kinda funny in that lol)
Do YOU read (English) books written by foreign authors
