Posted - Aug 21 2007 : 1:14:37 PM Hello friends! It's been a while since I have been here to chat. I am working on a scrapbook cookbook for my DD and I want to make her an apron as well. Does anyone have a cute apron pattern for a child? Thanks.

Posted - Jul 15 2008 : 06:40:38 AM Jessica, That is one wonderful pattern. I would love a copy for my granddaughters. We made some a while ago ( see them on my blog) but now they want to make more and a different pattern would be great. Thank so much

BrewCrew, I like the idea of using the seat of the old blue jeans..that sounds real cute!

Posted - Aug 22 2007 : 10:10:29 AM Angi, I've got 3 Simplicity patterns that are really cute. the numbers are: 3802 (has 5 different styles that are just too, too precious); 3949 which is a matching mother/daughter style; and 4692 that is another mother/daughter apron.
Good hunting.

Posted - Aug 21 2007 : 4:59:56 PM I recently saw a really cute idea for a child's apron, unfortunatly I don't have a picture to post, but as best as I can describe it:
Cut out the seat of an old pair of your girl's jeans (my girls have about 4 pairs each with un-repairable holes in the knees!). This is the main "apron" part, and it has pockets already! Sew a gathered ruffle of whatever fabric you choose along the outside edge, about 3 inches wide. Thread another stretch of the fabric through the belt loops and secure it on the sides of the "seat", leaving the ends to be the ties.
I can't wait to have time to start this project for my girls-- now I have something to do with those old jeans that's THEIR size!
