Posted - Jul 14 2008 : 06:04:51 AM Ok, I've been CDing for nearly two years. (cloth diapering).
I've tried a few different bought ones, and well some frustrate me cause they are expensive and fall apart! lol
Well any way, I was looking at a fitted the other day and thought, I could make these!
I need a pattern I think. Um......I haven't sewn since I was in junior high when I was 12 years old-home ech! I'm now 32! So that was 20 years ago! lol I have a machine.......it's in the box.....lol I need to know is there a top side and a bottom side to elastic?
Did you use elastic?
Can you post pics of ones you made? |

Posted - Jul 14 2008 : 2:24:02 PM I do the Mama Bird diaper pattern found below. It's really easy and works just like a disposable diaper- but cloth! You can do the one that needs a wrap or the All In One that doesn't: http://www.geocities.com/rew4birth/Diapers.html

Posted - Jul 14 2008 : 12:36:12 PM http://www.diaperaps.com/ is that what you were refering to?
I have to say the dappis I recently switched to, look a lot like them! (with the leg gussets too), and I only paid 2.58 per a cover! So far they are lasting pretty good, but they are still pretty new. And I don't put them in the dryer. (I learned the hard way, the dryer just ruins the elastic). |

Posted - Jul 14 2008 : 12:31:08 PM Thanks Library girl!
I did a lot of research too, lol But, didn't really tell me what would not just fall apart in the washer. lol haha I thought I had picked a good thing, and I had.....until, the lady sold the company to a inferior company in china. I have one of her's, and the others are from the Chinese company. Her's is great, the chinese ones......well sad to say they died pretty fast. lol
So I have decided it's time to make my own! lol :)
I also really like the dappi covers right now for the price, but I'm still new to dappi's so I don't know how long they will hold up to washing. |

Posted - Jul 14 2008 : 10:45:13 AM I CD, too, but I just use the prefolds & covers from diaperwraps.com. I did a lot of research on CDing before I decided on my system, though, and I found good info at these sites (including directions & photos):
