Posted - Jul 21 2008 : 09:06:36 AM For several years I have been wanting to find a treadle machine that I could afford that resembled my Great-Grandmothers. My mother owns the one that belonged to her but my mom the artist had torn appart and given it a new life as various things. I do own the drawers which I store seeds in and in the fall she is bringing me the other odds and ends of it for me to do whatever my creative heart feels.
Anyways I was able to purchase MY treadle this weekend! Before I found out anything about MaryJane Butter's and you girls on this forum I would have just let this baby sit as a beautiful piece of decoration in my home. But thanks to all of you I am inspired to learn how to actually use it. So with my manual in hand I hope to do all of you farmgirls, myself included proud. Here is to happy adventures in sewing!!

Posted - Jul 22 2008 : 09:27:05 AM Christina, I am so happy for you!!! I hope you have a great time using it. I would love to some day get a treadle also. My mother-in-law has one so maybe I can talk her out of it some day. I could tell her all about keeping it in the family!!! Have fun! Monica

Congrats on the "new baby" Christina! You've got a "Red Eye". Class 66 bobbins are easy to find too.
