Posted - Nov 13 2009 : 08:18:02 AM Is it a crazy nine patch? It doesn't look like the photos of that pattern I've seen before.

Thanks!!

Posted - Nov 14 2009 : 09:13:32 AM That's what I'm thinking now too, Brenda. Plus, I guess the pattern was popular in the depression years, so maybe that is a clue too.

Posted - Nov 13 2009 : 12:13:10 PM Nope, Sheila. I scored it in a barter. (Thanks, Janice!) Anybody like to hazard a guess as to age? I thought the 1960s because of the color of the blue, but on second thought, maybe not.

Posted - Nov 13 2009 : 08:28:03 AM Hi Kimberly Ann, It's called Glorified Nine Patch. I've never seen the colors combined quite like your quilt, so it took me a second to identify it. Usually the squares in the pattern are a different color/fabric than the "melon" pieces. When the fabrics are different, you get a more obvious stylized nine patch block in the center of the melon shapes. Gee...I hope this makes sense.:)
