Posted - Nov 24 2009 : 08:54:47 AM I have my oldest daughter's 2 girls here this morning. I'm having so much fun teaching them to sew seams by hand! Emma will be 8 in February and Isabelle is 6 1/2. I am making them thread their own needles and learn how to tie knots because when they are at home, their mom sure won't do it for them, lol! I gave them each 9- 4" squares and they are stitching them into blocks!! Emma absolutely loves it and she is doing very good- almost done! Isabelle seems to like it, but does not like threading her needle. She's done one row and is taking a break. I taught all my girls to sew, none of them are interested anymore, maybe my grand daughters will be! Just had to share this!

Posted - Nov 24 2009 : 6:27:05 PM Brenda, I am so happy for you! My oldest, Isaiah has even used my sewing machine! He likes to make anything and I am even trying to show him how to spin yarn. My middle one, Hannah doesn't seem to have as much interest in sewing, but she loves to string beads! My youngest,Olivia wants to learn to spin.I really hope they keep it up as they get older!

Posted - Nov 24 2009 : 09:11:30 AM I wish you could teach me to sew, LOL, I try to no avail! Your granddaughters must have enjoyed their sewing lessons. They'll appreciate that lesson one day. Marly
