Posted - Mar 01 2010 : 08:41:42 AM Remember as kids, poking holes in eggs, blowing out the innards and then decorating the egg shells? I think it is time to be a "kid" again! I did these a few Easters back... To display them I took a dried tree branch, stuck it in plaster(used small milk carton as a base) and then spray painted the branch white & hung the eggs from the smaller branches. Instant Easter Egg Tree. I went looking for my "Easter Egg Tree" yesterday but couldn't find it so I will have to make another one. No biggie. Any how the eggs are waiting patiently for their tree.. As for the little floral decorated eggs, I bought those,,,but now that I am into decopaugeing I could easily decopauge some..hmmm maybe I will deco some with baby pictures or pet pictures... gotta go...gotta go play in my craft room! lol!
All you need is some craft paint, scraps, bits-n-pieces of ribbon & trim and what ever else you have to cutsiefy the eggs up with...hmmm I can just see one all covered in rhinestones... oohh!, Grace likes sparkly stuff!

Posted - Mar 01 2010 : 7:31:38 PM Hey Barbara, I just gently rinse the inside & let them dry befor painting. You can spray a light coat of clear varathyne over the painted eggs to protect them. Did I mention,,, glitter, glitter & more glitter makes for a dazzling egg!

Posted - Mar 01 2010 : 5:06:22 PM I remember doing that as a youngster. Now I have 8 grandchildren that might enjoy it too..Is there anything that has to be done to clean out the inside of the egg after it has been blown out? I don't remember that part..Thanks for the great idea!

Posted - Mar 01 2010 : 3:30:51 PM My oldest cousin used to make those. I was so jealous, every time I tried to decorate the blown the eggs they would break. Hers were beautiful & she used to decorate tree branches in a vase with them.
