Posted - Jun 24 2010 : 05:01:31 AM I have my first badge that you get when you join up to be an official Farmgirl and I have a question. If I were quilting, I'd turn the fabric under on the red broken line on the outside of the badge but in every example I see, the badge extends beyond that line. I'm confused. How big are these badges supposed to be? Is that red line the "advanced" line for intermediate and advanced badge awards? Can someone please clarify for me. I haven't got my first real badge yet so I don't have anything to compare my first badge to.
Thanks.

Posted - Jul 06 2010 : 10:35:08 AM Giselle- save the image and then go into Microsoft word and Insert Image. Then you can move it over and do two per the same row. Then you can print those two off and trim the page. Your printer should let you use non standardized page sizes if you adjust the paper size the next time you print.
I used to do this all the time when I worked at a hotel and had to make use of pages of mailing labels that only had three left on the sheet (we had literally 3 of those boxes that 4 reams of paper come in full of mailing labels that only had a few stickers left on each!)

Posted - Jul 06 2010 : 09:34:53 AM So here's my NEXT question...
How the heck to you copy a new badge to the Transfer paper without using one whole sheet of paper for one badge??
I can't figure out how to set them up so I get six or so badges per sheet of paper. Any tips, hints, help?
THANKS!

Well, I finally decided to stitch up the patch in my faulty little embroidery style -- I make it up as I go along. I am happy with it. I haven't decided whether to do the letters yet or not. I've put it off for a few days so I think perhaps I won't. Why do something I'm not looking forward to, right? But doing the chicken was fun.

Posted - Jun 25 2010 : 1:46:47 PM Hi girls. Your posts made us take another look at our online Merit Badge instructions, and we realized they might not have been clear enough to begin with. I've now revised them to make the process easier to understand. See the revised instructions here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood/merit-badges.asp
Have fun with your Merit Badge projects! Carol

Posted - Jun 24 2010 : 08:23:39 AM Hi Giselle!
Good Question! It's up to you to decide how you want to embroider and hem you badges. The outer broken red dash line is a good guideline to embroider your first border color (for beginner). I usually give mine about another inch out from the dashed line so I have room to embroider and also to apply it to my jean jacket. But their is no "wrong" way to do it, either!

Posted - Jun 24 2010 : 06:56:08 AM Giselle, there is a forum about badges. Go to all forums and search for the post. Or look up CeeJay and send her an e-mail, she has lots of badges and would be very helpful.
