I haven't been very good about keeping up on my blog, but if you want to pop over, there is a picture of the lamp I made using a vintage globe. The instructions were in a previous MJF magazine.

WOW!! I love it. I have my grandsons old one in storage building. I am gonna pull it out and fix him one. He will love it. He is now in college and wants to be a history teacher for high schoolers.
Very ambitious if you ask me. But I guess that someone has to do it. And I believe he can. But he will love the lamp. Thanks for the idea, you are very creative!! Farmgirl #946 Linda
P.S. He was 6 when he got one for his birthday, and dropped it a few years later and broke the stand, not the globe, so I just put it out in the storage shed, he will be thrilled.
