Posted - May 01 2012 : 10:28:54 AM I do the same thing, Pam. Found a really cute very small basket at Goodwill for .50 and I put my scissors, cutter, thread, needle threader, etc. in that on the table next to my chair in my craft room along with a pin cushion (very handy). Have some of my threads wound around bobbins in a container, but others are in plastic bags to keep dust off of them. I also have a bigger basket that I put my piece of work along with my pin cushion and little basket so everything is in one place. |

Posted - Apr 28 2012 : 07:55:07 AM If you cut off a length of embroidery thread, separate it all before threading your needles. That way they don't get twisty & wrapped up all together & make a big mess & knots everywhere. Also, have a pincushion there just for your needles. I have a little tin (like a candy tin) that I put little scissors in, extra needles, threaders (if I need), "extras" of thread or whatever. Keeps it a little more contained.

Posted - Apr 27 2012 : 8:29:55 PM your work is beautiful. I'm not too neat with my work. I sit on the sofa and spread everything around me. The husband and dog has to stay away, or help me find things. My needles and hooks fall between the cushions often. The husband says it looks like a fire drill when I settle in to do my hand work. I'm 71 ys old, so I guess I'll not change. This way the husband gets to participate in my crafting. It's really a family deal when the dog gets into it with us. HOHOHO

Posted - Apr 27 2012 : 4:10:45 PM I have a sewing room but embroider in the family room most of the time. The sewing room is a diaster but I DO know where everything is. Slowly destashing the fabric collection which is helping. Kathy |

Posted - Apr 27 2012 : 12:41:16 PM I keep my threaded "working" needles stuck in a piece of fabric, the threads I am using on their bobbins in a baggie. The little snips go on the floor. LOL Kathy |
