Posted - May 13 2012 : 7:28:01 PM I made this handbag for my mother-in-law for her birthday/mother's day/anniversary that all occur within a week of each other. I designed the tree with the names of the children and grandchildren in the leaves, and my mother and father in-laws initials "carved" in the tree trunk. It is a small family tree, but a very strong one!!

Posted - Jul 17 2012 : 7:52:02 PM I love your handbag. What a wonderful idea. Mind if I sort of steal the idea - I love embroidering family trees on jackets, etc. and this would go great with some of my things. |

Posted - Jun 01 2012 : 06:52:35 AM Thank you ladies! We have a family reunion coming up on my father's side and I'm going to remodel the tree design with different names and re-arranged leaves. We are going to have a little auction to raise money to cover reunion costs, so I'll make a few things with that design on it to auction off. Should be fun!!

I had not thought of that!! I could definitely do that with my side of the family, but better not with the in-laws!
