The Tribune-Review reports today on page C20 of their sports section that 118 years ago today the very first professional football game was played in Latrobe, PA (not far from here), between Latrobe and our hometown of Jeannette. Latrobe paid quarterback John Brailier $10 for expenses.
Guess we have another reason to celebrate football today, farmgirls!
And now I know why ours is such a big football town! LOL!
Oh, happy day! 'Time to make chili and cornbread!
