For the expert level of the greatest generation badge I'm sharing my experience with my in laws. They're my oldest remaining relatives. My mother in law is suffering from dementia and has trouble remembering things that happen now, but has no trouble remembering the past. I visit at least once a week to help clean their house and we spend a lot of time talking. I ask a lot of questions about the past and have learned a lot! I'm working on writing down some of the stories and tid bits she shares so that they don't get forgotten. I've learned a lot and it's been fun to get to know more about my in laws. I'm not happy that she's suffering from dementia, but I am happy that it has made me take the time to slow down and find a way to connect with my mother in law.
