I am looking for hand powered, easy to use, able to grind as fine as flour, and reasonable in price. I'm in Canada so I have to take shipping into account for any US online products. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks muchly.

Posted - Sep 15 2010 : 05:11:31 AM Good morning, As you can see on the "grain mill" thread below, the Country Living Grain mill is my mill of choice. I have never used another so I can't compare, but this one makes very fine flour. I see the price has just gone up on it-glad I purchased when I did. I looked for one used but I was not successful in that search, so bit the bullet and bought one new. I baked my first loaf of bread with flour ground with it last night and it was amazing. Fresh flour is much different than flour that has been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. It would be nice if there was a store where you could try these out for yourself. Maybe in an Amish community? N@n in Michigan
keep searchin'-it's out there somewhere. |
