Posted - Dec 27 2012 : 6:35:07 PM Storms passed through the Houston area on Christmas day and we were without electricty. You'd think we freaked out. But, nope!
My 73 year old mom and I were doing the cooking in our family cast iron pots and skillets. The lights went out. The whole family gasped. And Moma and I never even missed a beat. We just kept on cookin'.
Having gas stoves and ovens helped. :)
One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt." |
