Posted - Aug 06 2013 : 1:44:41 PM Made a small batch of pickles today. Heading out to the farm market to see if I can find more. They are so expensive. Need to get a garden in next year for sure! This batch is dill, next batch I want to make garlic dills. Anyone else doing pickles this year?

Posted - Aug 06 2013 : 8:57:07 PM I did over 40 pounds of various pickles the other day on top of the mustard zucchini pickles the day before. We love our homemade pickles at this house!! And the ones that didn't seal have been sitting in the fridge and becoming better each day.
Do what you love, love what you do. |

Posted - Aug 06 2013 : 2:18:00 PM Yes we have been working pickles to point that the teenagers do not want to come into the kitchen!. Trying to pick them small for a better taste. After 12 years my dh decided to try them. And discovered he has been missing out on somthing great! Thank fully as a family ( my parents ) we are getting ahead of the eating so we should have some for winter. We made the garlic / dill. And we are going to try some 14 day pickles if time permits. I hope you came home with lots from the farmers market. I enjoy when I get to go to one, but for me it is about an hour drive one way. Good luck.
