Enjoy Sara and girls :)
Banana Pepper Mustard
1qt. Prepared Mustard
1 qt. (4 cups) Cider Vinegar
9 Tbsp. Cornstarch
6 Cup Sugar
3 cups finely chopped Banana Peppers
"REMOVE SEEDS OR MUSTARD WILL BE VERY HOT"
Combine Mustard, 3 Cups Vinegar, Sugar, and Peppers in a 4qt. Dutch Oven or stock pot.. Bring to a Boil over Medium Heat, (stirring almost constantly). Mix Cornstarch with remaining 1 Cup of Vinegar. Slowly Stir into Mustard Mixture until thickened. Remove from Heat and Seal in Hot Jars.
Yield: about 12 (8-ounce) jars
This is great for pretzel dipping!

Posted - Sep 12 2014 : 9:43:55 PM I gained 5 pints of this fabulous mustard. Going to do up some brats to broil tomorrow just so I can dip into this wonderful stuff! will be using the Vitamix to grind some flour and I'm felling some pretzels to help us watch two football games - the Oregon Ducks and our Seattle Seahawks! Go Ducks! Go Seahawks!

Posted - Sep 12 2014 : 11:24:49 AM I made some last night; I didn't have banana peppers, but a variety of sweet and some cayenne. I processed in the Vitamix until they were almost pureed, and followed the recipe. It is SOO tasty! I think next time I will add even more cayenne for some heat; I think mine is a bit mild, but hubby likes it that way. He adores mustard, so I will definitely be making more of this! Thanks Again Sharon, for always having the tastiest recipes!

No questions are idiot questions, only smart :)
I process the jars for 10 minutes and then adjust for altitude, we live at about 6700 ft.
When you asked for recipes with Serrano peppers it made me smile. We thought we had planted Jalapenos one year (that was what the tag said and I had not used jalapenos much). When we harvested I thought "wow these are pretty small". Well I went on to make 'jalapeno' jelly for my honey but boy were they 'hot'! I should have doubled or tripled my gloves because they burned my hands pretty bad. My husband loved the jelly and I said 'good, because it was now discontinued'
