Posted - Nov 08 2014 : 07:37:44 AM I just finished watching 'Mind of a Chef' on PBS. The chef visited a sweet potato farm and told the farmer that the latest thing in cooking was using sweet potato greens. She said they were more tender than collard greens. I'll have to wait until next season to find a grower near me to try them; or I might plant a couple of plants to help me earn a beginners badge in Garden Gate.

Posted - Nov 09 2014 : 4:59:47 PM Wow that is something I have never heard of either. I do have them growing now. They are growing everywhere! I will have to try them this week. I sure wish I could send them to both of you, Sara and Winnie but greens won't travel well.

Posted - Nov 09 2014 : 4:46:05 PM Sara, that is very interesting! I never heard of sweet potato greens, but it makes sense. We all eat turnip greens and beet greens down here in the South so why not sweet potato. Let me know if you get your hands on any and try them out. I bet they are good!
