My friends have made a outdoor kitchen with recycled items. I am amazed. They used pallets to frame the building, used windows, and who knows what else. I went there today to can butter and cheese. They do all their canning and dehydrating in this building. It is immaculate and very functional. Just thought I would share some pictures of the inside. I don't know why I didn't think to take some pictures of the outside. The whole building is probably 10x10'.

They are very resourceful and are not afraid to tackle anything. They get on the computer and find something they want to learn and just do it. Interesting couple with many talents.

Very creative and handy. Think how nice it would be to have all your canning things left out ready to be used. No more pulling out, re-arranging your kitchen so there's room to put canning things, and having to store again. You just have to close the door and go back into your clean orderly kitchen.

Your friends sound very creative and amazingly talented. They need to publish somewhere or at least have a blog on all they are doing to conserve energy. Learn all you can from them! Thank you for sharing this with us.

Forgot to add that they have window screens for the summer and glass windows for the winter. I am guessing they will use it this winter too. They also have a primitive small green house that can get up over 100 in the winter. The husband designed and made a solar heater out of pop cans and pipes the heat into the green house. It is just like a sauna when he gets it going. They are probably the most resourceful people I have ever met.

Yes, they have quite an effective set up. They really are living a self sufficient life. The only thing in this building that requires electricity is a dehydrator. Even their lights are battery operated. They are trying to go off grid and having a fair amount of success. I am grateful to be a recipient of the fruits of their labor. It has been fun learning skills they have mastered.
