Posted - Sep 09 2015 : 9:29:03 PM Oh MIchelle---you said some magic words--apple fritters! I love them but our bakeries put tons of sugar on top. Must make my own and leave the sugar off. I haven't had one in quite awhile....must remedy that!

Posted - Sep 05 2015 : 10:24:55 AM In Minnesota we have an Apple Festival in the middle of September. One of the orginal "Farm Wives" of the apple orchard has made apple slices to sell during this festival. She has graciously passed on the recipe to the next generation of bakers for the apple slices and I am in that line......Hopefully this is the year its me!!! If not I will buy them again and pig out until next year!!

Posted - Sep 04 2015 : 2:23:01 PM What fun! My favorite way to cook apples is to use them in a favorite main dish: Fall Pork Stew. It's got boneless pork, sweet potatoes, apples, and dried cranberries. It's a family favorite and the recipe I use most with apples. Second favorite would be good ol' apple pie, third fave is spiced apples canned.

Posted - Sep 02 2015 : 5:59:29 PM My favorite way to cook apples is in my mother's recipe for Apple Crisp. But if I am just going to eat an apple, I love it fresh, cut in 8ths with an apple cutter/corer, and spread with chunky peanut butter.

Posted - Sep 02 2015 : 12:48:28 PM I love sauteing apple slices in butter with some brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg added. So quick and delicious. My other favorite is making apple butter. Nothing beats it for putting on biscuits. But then, there's always pie....

Posted - Sep 02 2015 : 11:56:28 AM Winnie, Please enter me in the drawing! I have two favorite ways, but I'll go with making applesauce. I cook them with the peel on, run through the ricer and have pink applesauce because of the color of the peels. Easy, yummy! CJ
P.S. Have already been able to make some from some summer apples!
