Posted - Mar 27 2026 : 6:28:06 PM I really want some ice cram now :) The only ice cream cake I've had was from Diary Queen and it was just ice cream and frosting. There was no cake or cookie.
How do you make no churn ice cream? One time I tried to freeze my cream without stirring it and it didn't turn out so good. It was more like ice chunks instead of creamy.

Posted - Mar 27 2026 : 2:14:19 PM The ice cream cakes I have had in the past always had cake not crusts. But the crust cakes sound pretty easy. Has anyone made one with cake?

Posted - Mar 26 2026 : 12:54:39 PM I haven’t made one for awhile but when I did it usually started with an Oreo crust. I would use 2 flavors of ice cream, whatever you like. I had better luck if I didn’t soften it first, just use a spoon to kind of slice off layers and then pack it into the crust. I would usually put a layer of hot fudge topping in between the ice cream layers. Then you can add whipped cream or cool whip on top and shaved chocolate, etc. Then let it get hard in the freezer. A deep pie plate works or you can go bigger and use a springform pan. The flavor combinations are endless!!! I always wanted to try a strawberry one with a shortbread crust :)

Posted - Mar 25 2026 : 1:43:40 PM I love those! My mother used to make them. All I remember is she made a crushed cookie crust, may have been vanilla wafers, and softened the ice cream to swirl two flavors together before putting it in the cookie lined pan and putting it all back in the freezer to freeze hard. I think it was regular frosting on the top, the best I can remember; it was many years ago.
