Posted - Jul 25 2008 : 8:40:17 PM I finally finished staining both of my decks yesterday. I used a dark cedar stain on them this time & they look great. I sure hope the stain lasts for a few years. I hate the thought of having to do them again next year!

Posted - Jul 25 2008 : 12:54:20 PM Dawn is right, don't pressure or power wash too close to the wood. Hope the staining goes well. I need to stain our deck, but it's much too hot lately. Let us know how your deck comes out after the staining. Have a happy day. Marly |

Posted - Jun 30 2008 : 06:32:26 AM Power washer! That's what I use on my decks and concrete sidewalks/patio. It does a superb job, making them look like new. Be careful with the jet spray, it is quite strong, so don't hold it too close to the wood. I rent them from Home Depot. Call around & see who has the best rental price by you.
I'm just heading out to stain my decks. We washed them down last week. Good luck on spiffing yours up too.
