Posted - Oct 17 2008 : 10:19:18 AM I have heard that a charcoal briquet will take out fish smells and cigarette smoke smells as well.

Posted - Oct 14 2008 : 9:34:35 PM Dampen a small towel (a hand towel or dish towel will be good) in white vinegar. It works best when the entire towel is damp. Walk around your hour swing the dampened towel over your head like a helicopter. You will smell the vinegar for 1-2 minutes and then the smell should be gone. Do this as long as possible throughout the house.
I hope this helps!

Posted - Sep 25 2008 : 10:52:11 AM Open the windows, immediately clean any dishes you used and wipe down the kitchen and even wash your clothes your were wearing. I save my really bad clothes for when I do things like bacon or fish and then I change before dinner.

Posted - Sep 25 2008 : 09:43:59 AM I did that making fried coconut shrimp one time - the shrimp were yummy but it was disgusting smelling it later. Now I try to remember that there is a side burner on our barbeque and to take the stinky stuff outdoors - weather permitting. Of course usually I'm halfway through before I remember... Posted - Sep 23 2008 : 06:09:30 AM Heather I ususally just open a few windows and wipe the kitchen down with a bowl of warm vinegar water. Then get my apron in the laundry ASAP. It seems the scent always sticks in the fabric. If you have alot of carpet you could also sprinkle a little baking soda on it and let it set a bit before you vacumn it up. That will usually help.

Posted - Sep 23 2008 : 05:45:08 AM What Jennifer said works great. You could try setting out a small bowl of baking soda but not sure if that would help as much.

Posted - Sep 23 2008 : 05:09:53 AM If you have any oranges, peel them and simmer the peels (only) on the stove in some water for about a hour or so. Add a few cloves or a cinnamon stick if you have them, will smell even better.

Posted - Sep 23 2008 : 04:48:25 AM I put out a bowl of vinegar and that does help. Vinegar helps clear the air of a lot of smells. Of course if you can open any windows or door and get a breeze through helps too, but I know it's starting to get chilly.
