Ok, sorry I haven't responded, for some reason my subscribed topics are not coming through to my email...frustrating. My husband was to mail our dolls to Linda and Erin this week for us. I know he only just posted Carmen's doll to Erin yesterday morning even though Carmen believes it was several days ago. He, as usual put it in his trunk and forgot. As for Linda's box, I believe it suffered the same fate. But, they are on the way to you ladies now. Sorry for the delay. I know it is frustrating to be looking in the mail for something that is not there. we have had 5 rounds of company this month(April)and a large event that I organized, so everything is behind. As for Mahri, Carmen and I are going to send together. Carmen's is ofcourse done and beautiful and mine is only 1/2 done and not so cute. I will need to work on the cuteness factor. Hopefully we will send very soon. I am tying up all sorts of loose ends and stray projects this week and wknd.
By the way Carmen loves her box of treasures and is so pleased by your crochetting ability with that adorable little dress and hat combo. The poncho is fabulous. I am sure Carmen will post under my name later. I see you two have become quite good email buddies. She checks her inbox for your messages more now than she has ever checked her inbox before.
Sorry to hear about your little goat, that is so sad. We loved looking at your pics, he was very cute. Our thoughts are with you. |

I'll keep my eyes out. Thanks for letting me know about the delay. I never receive one of the packages from my last swap either and was starting to wonder if I'd given out the wrong address! LOL. I didn't want to have all of Carmen's love and hard work be lost in the mail...
Thanks for the condolences on my loss (of my baby goat). I felt so bad for the breeder, who had to let me know - she was dreading telling me... It wa one of those things that happens. The only good thing is that I'd not really met him yet, so I didn't have as much of an attachment to him as I might have.
I also am working on my dolls for Mahri, and I understand about trying to get that "cuteness" factor - For me, it is the faces that I have trouble with - sometimes my dolls look like they are terribly constipated - that or just plain mean...

I think Carmen has decided to make a whole line of the doll she sent you and she is writing a story to go along with them. It turned out terribly cute and it did not seem dificult for her at all. She spent countless hours on it, but it is almost entirely her own work. I am extremely pleased with how well it turned out. Sorry Linda, but Carmen's doll trumped my efforts and she seemed to pull her project together effortlessly. Gotta go...jess |

Jess, when she has her story ready, please email me a copy of the text and I can make it into a bound book. (I do handmade books.) I'm not sure how we can handle the illustrations, unless you can scan them and send them as .jpgs on a CD. I do have a color printer. (Maybe we can do this as a surprise for Carmen and not tell her about it.)

Okay, I will keep that in mind. I do not know if she told you, but she gave the doll a name, Forsythia Root, the garden girl. Funny, I thought. Anyway, we will see how long this takes her. She fully immerses herself in one project at a time and her whole world becomes her project. I wish I could do that, but I think as we become adults, we just have to become serious multi-taskers. |

As I told Jessica, not to worry. I know it will come. Hey she has a lot on her plate, and I give her a lot credit for what she does.

My daughter is quite the character, she acted as though I was ridiculous for not being able to guess that was her name. Who would have known. Jess |

OMG! I got my doll from Karin and she is adorable! She is a Granny with an apron holding a rooster, she came with several accessories: a crate of eggs, a pot of flowers, a garden journal, and a spindle of wool! Plus, a cute journal for me. Thank you Karin!!!!!!!
I'm thinking of naming her Emma.
Blessed Be!

Oh, yayness!!!I love the name Emma! It suits her well. Was the box at the UPS Store? I bet they were very confused. ;) Next time I will not rush. You can change out her accessories to suit your whim. All of them fit in her arms. I am so glad that you like her.

Robin,
I received Miranda on Friday. The box was on the floor by the front door. She's so pretty. I have no camara, so I'll try to describe for our readers:
Miranda is a "child" doll that has black hair that to me looks curly, green eyes, a beautiful green dress with trim across the dress, the buttons are vintage (you know how I love vintage!) pearl buttons. The pantalettes match the dress. The doll has beige skin, Robin mentioned in her letter that she has never really seen a "beige" person. I have (my ethnicity comes in all colors) and I love her. My son saw the doll and he said, "The doll has your hair" (which I gotta agree with him, she does.)
I will send you the doll I'm making on Friday, and while I was in NY I picked up a little something for your daughter which I'll add to the package.
Thank you so much for the beautiful doll, let your daughter know I love the green eyes.
