Not sure if this is the appropriate board for my inquiries.
I am looking for colored glass bottles...not fancy or "antique". Wanting to make a bottle tree.
Also looking for tons of willow branches for craft projects. Would be happy to make day trip out of aquiring either item. In Tri-Cities WA. Afraid shipping on branches would be super high.
Also could someone explain ETSY. My Mother-In-Law has MS and has been making recycled/remade greeting cards for many many years. I list them for her on Ebay, they do pretty well. I'd just love to have another outlet for them. My Father-In-Law would love to have the space back that all those boxes of cards takes up in his work room.

Oooooh thanks. If you are interested in a bottle tree, google search bottle tree on "images" there are plenty of pictures. Also many sites have the history (something about warding off evil spirits). It is a Deep South yard sculpture that originated in Africa. Whimsical fun. Sparkles in the sun.

Kelly- I saw a bottle tree at Scott's Antique Market here in Atlanta last month. Unfortunately, it was a dreary, gray day- so no sparkle. I wondered about it's purpose. I bet they are beautiful in a garden. Post a picture when you get yours finished!! I'd love to see it.

You can ask local rest.(ecs. on the weekends) if there is one you are friendly with or search at recycling station if you have one open to public( or go through your neighbor recycling bins at night) . You can also get Lots off ebay in the colors you want. They have some in the big in gardens in charleston. I really like the cobalt glass. But green pierre (spelling) make good trees also. Or you could just start drinking alot of wine or would that be with the red nose! Have fun! I was actually thinking about those trees this morning isn't that ironic!

I had requested some bottles on here about a year ago for a bottle tree as well. I was only ablre to get 1. I guess people don't hang onto bottles anymore or f they do they want to keep them! I have found quite a few at flea markets and yard sales.

i had a few from work that we got as a cute little inspirational thing once.. like a message in a bottle type thing..
Anyway.. i snagged a few of them here & there..They were pretty cute... not very big though.. like maybe 3 or 4 inches tall.. & different colors.. like purple & lime green maybe.. if i can find them.. they are yours.. May take me a while..
i'll let ya know when i've completed my search ..

Oh my, I feel like such a dope. I can remove lables from liquor bottles....they make some unusual and pretty ones. My Dad has a bar...I am embarrassed for asking now. Thank you everyone for your responses...I will post a picture when I finish it. I may end up be a bottle supplier for you all if you like how it turns out and want to try one. Thanks again.

Hi Kelly,
Etsy is super easy...if you can post on Ebay you will definitely not have problems with Etsy. It will walk you through all the steps when you click to sign up for a new account. I think there is also a tutorial too. I think it's much more affordable than Ebay, as I recall it's $.20 per item listed (no matter the listing cost). There is a small fee (maybe 2.5%?) on sold items. Items don't have a quick cutoff date like Ebay, I believe you can leave them in your Etsy shop for something like 30 or 60 days?
