I found this cute cowgirl dress at GW a while back. It was missing two silver heart buttons! I can't find them anywhere! They are for a size 4T. Thanks for any help!

Sorry it's so huge I resized it , but it doesn't want to cooperate

Can't help with the heart buttons. The only hearts I have are purple plastic, but they are yours if you want them...

PS What about using two silver "concho" type buttons to fill in the gaps?

What size are they? I have 13 gallon jars and nine 3 gallon totes full of buttons and that's just the ones I could see and count. Have, from looking through one small jar, 4 silver shanks with a flower design, 1/2 inch across, metal, if they would work. I know I have some of those heart shape, but think they're plastic and didn't see them right away. Sent a bunch of metal ones for the button exchange, but think they were all gold. If what I have will work, privately email me your address.

Jenny,
A lot are ones cut off clothing and not ''special'', but do have some antique/vintage that are somewhat valuable. I volunteer time at an antique mall for a friend and found a quart size bag awhile back for $2..the woman who runs the place told me I had about $40 worth and sarcastically said she didn't have time to see what the booth renters have that's underpriced. I do and that's what I buy when I'm there. I often bring home a bag or jar when I hit the thrift shops..which I'm trying NOT to do at least until I get the sewing room cleaned out and set up for sewing. My problem, if that's what it is, is excess....buttons, fabric, quilting books and magazines and every thing else I collect. I could sew and quilt for years and only need to buy thread as I run out. and my spouse thinks if you don't need something for 15 minutes, you get rid of it. And he's the one with a 40x60 shop!!

Mandi,
I have your address from the RAOK list. Will send them your way. I don't need anything in return. If I ever get my buttons sorted by size, type or color, it will be easy to find what someone needs. I just got lucky with the jar I looked through last night. Found a few dimes and some other interesting things in the jar. I think the button box used to be where ladies put anything small they didn't know what to do with at the time and then forgot.

Thank you Ronna, but you know I am going to send you something anyway( no worries no buttons, fabric or magazines). That's how my mom's and Nona's button boxes were everything ended up in them. That's where I always found change for bubble gum.

Mandi - for the future - if you can't match a button, take them all off and start fresh with ones you have enough of. When you love a particular one, this won't work, but it's saved me a lot of times.

Buttons mailed today, post office said 3 days no matter how I sent them. They're wrapped in ''something'' so they don't rattle. When I measured again, they are a tad over 1/2", maybe 5/8", so hope they will work. In the same jar, I found some adorable silver metal shanks with a moose or elk and mountains in the background, but only 3 of the size you need and 3 are larger. I'm going to bag them in case I want to find them again. l did start to organize them a month or so back and then realized cleaning up the sewing room was much more important. Looking for some for you was a good excuse to play :)

Thanks Ronna! Good luck organizing. I know it's hard work, but it's so gratifying afterward. My problem is keeping it that way!
Rhonda thanks for looking.
Patricia thanks for the advice. I need all I can get!
