I just kept having visions of a woman wearing a snug linen skirt,
and when she stands up from sitting, all the horizontal wrinkles
that are in the fabric~the horrors! Maybe I'll get it anyway, even if
I just wipe my dishes dry with it~LOL Black linen dishtowels~Ooooooo
It WAS 100%.........hmmmm have to go visit my son tomorrow and do a
reconnaissance fabric mission.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of renFaire Dresses made out of linen,

You need to wash the linen, and then dry the hell out of it. Get it out of the dryer and hang it on the line until most of the wrinkles fall out.... then cut your dress. It may need touched with an iron, but they didnt have the crisp shiny starched look. All of my dresses I wash and wear.... and mine get muddy

I've been secretly following along with yall in this thread. Georgann, what is an Amy Butler pattern? Probably a dumb question, but I have no idea. lol

Blessings....

Georgann -- I love the skirt/apron combo, too! I've made purses from two Amy Butler patterns -- almost finished with my second one, actually, and I'll post a pic when done. I've got her 'In Stitches' book out of the library right now -- may be making an apron from that one.

Sarah -- Check out Amy Butler's website. Lots of cool fabrics and patterns. It's a fun addiction!

Jess, all of the dress except for the ones with the laces are 4 pieces. Seriously easy to make and I line it with muslin. The laced dresses are flemish, and they are a bit of work. There is an under dress, over dress, special chemise and the partlet.

I had made a flemish dress.... it was a lot of work and it is hot and heavy (I didnt use 100%linen) and now I am way too fat to wear it.

4 aprons cut? Boy, do I need to get busy. I just bought a few aprons patterns off ebay last night. Shouldn't take to long to get here.
Maybe I can get some sewing done this weekend. Seems I'll have some time on my hands and what better way to spend than sewing of course!

Do I just go to my ebay and cut and paste here?
I am NOT computer savvy so you'll have to help me out Jess.
