Hi! Just joined yesterday after seeing a link about this cool place on another message board! I'm excited to be here and look forward to getting to know ya'll! My name is Cricket, I live in a northern suburb of Chicago, have a soon to be 14 year old daughter Mandi, an 8 year old fur-baby Ozzi and my hubby of 17 years Roger. I love to do crafty things, in fact I'm going to try my hand at making some aprons! Have a great day!

Smiles,
Cricket

Welcome Cricket!

I know that there are a few other farmgirls in your neck of the woods! I love doing crafty things too! What are your favorites? I am just learning to sew, but I do love it! I also crochet (poorly but learning more) and am learning to tat with the help of MaryJane's newest book!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

Alee, I've probably tried most everything LOL but my favorites are needlework (cross stitch and needlepoint, learned when I was very young by my grandmother and have loved it ever since!), quilting (just learned to do this fall and am addicted), sewing in general, love fabric. In my last home I made all my valences, while I was pregnant I made maternity clothes and I made all my daughters Halloween costumes...such fun! and last but by no means least, I LOVE to scrapbook and do paper crafts. I am a contributing writer for an online scrapbooking and rubber stamping magazine, used to be on the design team for rubber stamping and wrote a monthly article, now I'm over doing occassional articles on digital scrapbooking which is soooo fun! I also love to bake, I would have loved to have been a pastry chef (next life I guess LOL)...so there you have it, these are my most favorites of the crafty things!

I'm familiar with your area, I used to live right near the lakefront in Waukegan while I was going to college up there (before my school relocated to Chicago).
