Nay, I don't think I've seen Zapps Salsa..will have to look for it. My favorite hot sauce is Crystal brand.

My Miss Morgan is sick. Stomach all tore up but no fever..came home with antibiotics with a something mixed in for the stomach..supposed to settle it..I had them give her first dose while I was there.."I thought that was smart, right?" NOT...a few minutes after I got her in the apartment she urped it up..poor baby..she's never been sick before. So y'all please say a prayer for her or send healing energy her way. Thanks...

Hey Karin (yankee in GA) ...glad you visited my new blog...back to scanning, editing and uploading tonight....this may take me years to get all of it uploaded..LOL It's something I've been wanting to do for a few years so I could easily see what I really have.. It's working because I'm coming across stuff I forgot I even had. Most of my collection was purchased over the past 25 years or so..I always want the originals and they don't come for free...that the "collector" in me...(and unfortunately I've not come across many of my patterns through thrifting)....copies are great too when the originals aren't for sale but 99.5% of my stuff come from the originals.

ummmmmm. Ronna, you need to learn to scan, edit and upload too lady..you've got way, way too many patterns, transfers, etc. and such that creative souls would love to see and have for inspiration. The paper will erode faster being stored in plastic...don't know if you realize that or not. I've got metal filing cabinets. I think there is a certain plastic that is archival quality but couldn't tell you off the top of my head...filing cabinets are good for me since it's climate controlled..I guess your storage room is??

Jess, glad Lexi is feeling better.

Bonne, that's right, you got the altitude issue...something I always jumped over when reading a recipe...I bet you have so many products there that we have never heard of here in the south..it's interesting hearing about other regions and how things work.

ok, you've got the sewing faeries at your place! Gotta go check your blog..Hope you posted Autumn's dress.

Bonne, I love the dress you made for Autumn, you are really on a sewing tear at the moment, what fun to see the results.

Teresa, How is Caleb doing? I hope he's feeling better, poor little pumpkin...

I have some linen fabric, i even know where it is, that I got years ago at my favorite salvage store. A man in line ahead of me at the cutting table asked if they had any linenas he needed some for his "Civil "War Re-enactors' Jamboree. So the woman showed him this nice tight woven dark blue. He got a coupole yards, I got the rest. I also have some cream colored linen I got at the same time and some move loosely woven cobalt blue linen. The only thing I ever sewed out of them was a costume for my sone when he was in a play at a local theater in town. I am always in awe of linen and don't want to screw it up if I'm making something for me. The natural fabrics are always my faves, but if I see a blend that I think would work in a scrap quilt I'lol get a little piece of it. Of course now I should never bbuy any more fabric, because there is no room in my house and I need to start sewing.

My car wouldn't start this morning, so I called a friend down the road for a jump and as soon as I asked her the phone went dead. My pphone line just died, at least I have the internet, I guess they must have forgotten to feed the squirrels sho run the phones at my teeny tiny local phone company. Tomorrow I will call them up on my daughter's cell phone and yell at them. My friend
Carol senf her husband over and he jumped the car, so that was good. I love all the new snow, but this frozen car, frozen brain, dead phone stuff is more than I can tolerate at the moment

Jess - glad to hear Lexi is doing ok, and being a stoicv about having to sit out a game. When I want to be cheered up I just click on your blog and look at Emilia "Dolce smiling, she's such a beauty...

Osnaburg? I remember getting that when I was in high school for some of my weirder sewing projects, it is nice stuff for certain things and dyes very well.

I can hear my furnace gurgling and wheezing, a comforting noise. It is actually warm down cellar, not that I would want to stay down there for any time at all. I used to have my washing machine and dryer down there, but I moved them upstairs when I could no longer wrestle the basket of wet laundry up the atairs to dry on the line in the summer. Now there are just boxes full of who knows what. When I started packing up to move here i labeled all the boxes, started out fairly well, but ended up with labels like :kitchen crap, even more kitchen crap, etc

I think I need to go check out Steph's blog.

I forgot to mention that my friend Dawn's apron will be the cover shot on Apron*ology!! Jess, do you remember her from the day we spent with MaryJane- she has short, dark hair and the sweetest Southern drawl. I'll see if I can find a photo of her.
Stephanie- I cannot imagine what your craft room looks like! If yI had been collecting for twenty-five years, it would take me at least that long to get it all sorted!! lol
Karin- Don't you want to come South? Anytime you want to, you let me know.

Karin (GA), My studio and storage area in our last home was 700 square feet...We are in between moves right now..waiting to move most of it to my newest studio (900 square feet) and yes, I figure I may spend the next 25 years scanning, editing and uploading. It's all part of the fun journey of being a collector...It's much more fun to share what I've collected than to just be the only one looking at it, ya know!? So this image blog is a blast for me.

And yes, you need to take pics of your studio and share with us...I need ideas for my new one.

Karen, you are right. I think back, and am so glad that he didn't have any weapons. As I was walking out our front door, I told my younger son to lock the door behind me. You never know these days.

900 sq ft studio? I could do that. That's the area of my entire house. I'm mulling over making my remaining lawn a "tent city" just to house my crafts. lol

Bonne, as beautiful as your yard is the tent idea would be great during the spring and summer?? Maybe one of those outdoor tent rooms like MJ has at her farm. One has to have room to create!

A yurt!! or a tipi! lol
A tipi would just blend in, wouldn't it? and the city couldn't complain
because it's not a permanent structure. Couldn't you see me out there with a fire going in the winter.
That's one thing we DO have is lots of yard and I'm seriously considering doing away with ANY lawn~little by
little it's been shrinking. That reminds me, got another seed catalog today~time to plan out what to grow this summer.
I want to do a LOT more canning~hope the peaches are good this year~OMG, I opened my first jar of peaches I'd canned a week ago and it
was heaven!

Awww...sorry Miss Morgan is under the wheather...

Teresa, awww poor kiddos....

Bonne- great dress! you had me inspired last night..was going to make myself a blouse following one of my vintage patterns I bought from Miss Wilma- and darn it if I couldn't find a good fabric for it...then I was gonna make a dress, but I couldn't decide if the fabric I had enough of would look good...so...I just ended up pleating half of a skirt I had waiting on me...it is already hemmed, so I just need to split the seam in the back and stick a zipper in, and see if I've got anymore of the fabric for a waistband...hmm...and find out if I have any brown thread...

Bonne, yes, a yurt was what I couldn't pull out of my brain! and yes I can see you out there with a huge fire burning doing a bit o spinning on a very cold crisp day.... And doing away with the yard except for functional things like food and yurts is the way to go...the peaches sound divine. I've got a small yard on each side of the cabin and the rest goes downhill...a weedeater will take care of my yard...YAY!!! After all the different acreages I've had over the years it's nice to not have to deal with all that upkeep.

I'm gonna do raised container gardening and have a small area for my rose garden...I LOVE the David Austin English roses...
http://www.davidaustinroses.com/american/Advanced.asp

I'm anxious to see how Bev's lavender plants do for her..I absolutely love lavender but the humidity here is a death sentence to them...I've been told by a lavender farmer out in Montana that if I plant them in containers and let them go dry that they may thrive. I'm gonna try it.

Teresa, I'm sorry Caleb is still sick and now the girls....that time of the year though..I'm holding my breath..so far we have both stayed well. Have a cola..don't stress yourself out..you'll be next otherwise...

Carol Sue, What's you doing? Did you get in your sewing room today?

Ok, now finally on my way to Bonne's to see Autumn's dress.

how big is your shed teresa, hope ur kids get better

i get my barn studio back after this week as my hubs and his crew got a very nice posh office downtown today...he has been negotiating the deal for a bit, so yay me..this summer the kids can play outside, play games in teh rec room in the barn, adn I can create in my space..as long as he gets all his crap..oh I mean stuff outta there! All I have had for awhile is my outdoor covered studio and my indoor storage room.

Thanks to Autumns blog I found my favorite story lady, she is 81 and still story tellin, so I will be lookin her up and takin the kids to see her ASAp.

well, lexi is having trouble focussing and keeping her thoughts togetehr..ugh..i know this is just part of this...but this kid is way on the ball. The rest of my kids are smart kids, but Lexi is really on it...so I am having a hard time with her out-to-lunchedness today. Even her teacher emailed to let me know she is just not herself. Which I had asked her to let me know what she thought since she is able to give an unbiased report. I just love this teacher we have this year, too bad I cant bring her home and have her help me teach all my kids.

Oh...my big news...took the foot off my machine, stuck a hoop on a small baby quilt...did a crazy whack design, but finished a quilt in no time! Oh and the back is great...steph sent this orange skully print..it is fab with the batik front.

WHEW!!!! I''ve been reading for 30 minutes!!!
I never got to check in here today because Bonne was counselling me!!!
Did she whip that dress out fast or what??????
I have to admit she got me thinking- clothes are a real issue for me.
I was small all my life-never over a size 8-10- but now I'm a mere 40 - yes 40- pounds overweight and what I like is in great conflict with what looks nice on me!
Bonne - you had me rolling on the floor laughing when you reminded me what the sara clemson funky duds would look like on me!!!!

When I showed my hubby pictures of her dresses he just quietly shook his head and looked down- then he said- "your 51 - I don't think it'll look the same on you."
Bonne , he was glad you reminded me of the same thing.
SOOOOO_ moving on- time to find clothes for this big girl-qwiverring lip and all!

Gone pattern hunting

Blessings,
Autumn
