I've been reading about Etsy teams the past couple of days. It is a way for people that live in the same state, make the same things, or have similar interests to promote each other's businesses. I've emailed Etsy about the particulars of starting a team. We would run special promotions during peak selling times of the year, promote the team on our blogs, support each other in our businesses, etc. I know that an area on this forum is being developed for us to promote our businesses and this would not take anything away from that. It would be a way to promote our businesses in addition to what we'll have here. It would be kept strictly to Farmgirls with Etsy shops.

Ok, first of all what does it mean when a post just says 'bump'? I'm so lost. lol
I would be interested in being on an etsy team I think. I have been planning to open a shop there, on my to do list.

bump or bumping means bumping a topic to the top of the list to make it active so other people will read it in case they missed it the first go round

I submitted the proposal and am waiting for approval. As soon as I get I'll let you all know!
Brooke -- Etsy also has a Portland Street Team that does a lot of local things. Ours will be online only.

Thanks Beth. I didn't want to do just an area one. wanted one that would be Farmgirls from all over that have Etsy shops.

I did get an email from Luzy and and Tina. I had to email Etsy and am still waiting to hear back from them.
The only thing that it will involve is being a part of the group and maintaining your Etsy shop. We will have a main team page on Etsy and a blog where I will put links to everyone's shops. We'll also be able to have our individual shops listed on this forum. Then in your listings and on your shop page you can mention the team and point them to the blog or the Etsy page. I thought that we could do some special promotions -- such as Christmas, Spring, etc. And maybe some special sales. All you would need to do for these is have at least one item to sell in the theme of the promotion.
I'll come up with the ideas, keep the web pages updated, etc. All you have to do is create! And I thought that once a week on the blog we could do a feature with a member to tell about them and what they sell.
Hope I haven't overwhelmed everyone.

I got the emails gals! I'm working on getting it going but there has been a problem with the link on Etsy to do that. It's been fixed and I've printed off the template for info that I have to submit. We have our logo, just need a blog and we're all set. Should have the info submitted by the end of the week and then we can start promoting!!
