etsy.com for handcrafted items. do a search for FGF and you'll find many items crafted by your farmgirl pals.

http://www.shopgoodwill.com

I was shocked to learn in a newspaper article last year that most of the good stuff that is donated to goodwill now goes to their on-line auction site. I had wondered why it was harder to find the incredible books, fabrics, and household items in the stores... come to find out those items aren't even stocked on the floor anymore!

I haven't been on this site recently, because there is WAY too much temptation... check out the cookbooks! the quilts! sigh.

Thanks for the link, Lizabeth.

My local Salvation Army pulls nicer things aside to resell to vertain vendors - that's rather disheartening.

It's all about making a buck. Especially for the second hand stores, I suppose it actually makes good business sense to pull off the "good stuff" and try to get better prices for it. Disappointing for treasure hunters in the stores, for sure.
