I read a previous post about swisher skirts and such by Cattle Kate and made a purchase from the website: http://www.somomule.com/CattleKateWomen.html

I bought a pair of the fringed Gauntlett Gloves: http://www.somomule.com/catalog/item/4683781/4815658.htm They are made out of a buckskin leather in Saddle Tan and very very nice. They also have an elk hide tote bag from another custom maker not Cattle Kate that I hope to buy next.

I spoke to the company owner Ken who personally takes the phone orders. He was very polite and helpful. This is a unique site because he will only carry Made In The USA products and many if not most items are hand made and or custom made. His prices are below Cattle Kate's Web Site prices who makes the clothes. It was so nice to have personal attention and receive a quality product made in the USA in this ever changing press one press two made somewhere else world.

Thanks, Centyurylate

Hey Jesse,

Nice to meet you! The gloves are beautiful. There's nothing else like first class quality merchandise. Made in the USA has everything to do with the superior quality and customer service.

There are a few of us around here that strive for "Handcrafted in the USA". I collect Vintage fabrics from the 1930's to 1970's. I love working with them because I feel like I'm recycling and using goods that were made in the USA.

However, I do love Batik fabrics and their rich history so I do buy Batiks that are designed and made in Bali, Indonesia. And of course we all know most of the other fabrics are now made in China unless you get into the English fabrics. Oh La La, beautiful stuff in England!

See you around the forum,
Stephanie

Thanks Jenny, I love the 1800's clothes, especially when they are the quality those are. The quality and charm is so nice. Need to be spoiled sometimes!

Gosh, I wish we could dress in 1800's clothes all the time without looking so conspicous! I love long skirts and boots and aprons, and to me they look so feminine and feel so good. This is a great topic of conversation!

I absolutely love the Prairie Winds Skirt, but it is a little to high for me at 110.00. But it sure is purty!

Hi jpbluesky,

The labor costs in other countries is so low.... we have farmed out, (No Pun Intended) so much of our manufacturing it seems impossible for the USA to compete with the costs. That being said, the quality of Made In The USA seems to still be the best around. And probably most importantis that we can usually rest assure that child labor was not involved in the Made In The USA process. Just seems like an important issue to me.

Thank You,
Jesse

I totally agree with you. Nothing can beat made in the USA for quality and goodness. It is worth the price that makers are forced to charge, for sure.

You are welcome, Jesse....love your name. :) Love those clothes.

Sometimes I think I am just going to be eccentric, and dress the way I want to, which is pioneer, and try not to care what people think! That is being very courageous here in North Florida!!!

jpbluesky - I have found that I cannot be concerned about other peoples fears or dislikes about me as they belong to them. Being myself is just that. On a grander scale, for every person that dislikes something about me perhaps five people see the opposite. I only need to see one me. If we learn to laugh along WITH the people that make judgments on us those judgemental people move toward someone else to feed their own insecurity about themselves.

Don't be shy just let your feelings roll on by. Don't wear fear or nobody will know your there! Just lift your head and let your feeling's out instead! (sorry can't take credit for that one...it's from a Cat Stevens song). But I so love it!

Thanks for the name compliment, I've grown to love it. Mom & Dad liked it too.
