I am so glad that you have extended the date. Just like everyone else... way too much life happening here. End of year testing(homeschool) - (my parents live with me) Mom had knee surgery - Dad was supposed to have knee replacement surgery, got there and got prepped... Dr. canceled because of Dads heart. Tomorrow Dad will get stent(sp)...yada, yada, yada... needless to say. I haven't even started yet. I'm hoping to get them done by next weekend. Hope that is ok. Sorry to be soooooo late. |

Nope.. not yet linda.. but i'm sure they'll be here soon.. No worries Toots.. your fine. we're all fine.. time is just a matter of time after all.. & hey.. who's counting anyway.. These are appointments that we can always move around... they are OUR nice friendly little dates! & we play with them just like we want to!
Cheryl.. poor Girl.. call if you need help Chickie Dear.. i work alot.... but if you need me I'm right here Kiddo.. Not so far al all you know.. Sometimes we just need to get away from our own Chaos & help some one else with theirs to relieve whats going on in our own lives..
I think this is one of the reasons I like to volunteer at the Va Hospital.. I don't do just regular things there though.. i work in the Nursing Home area.. so everyone there is pretty long term.. Not all neccisarily elderly though.. some are just in the rehabilitory process.. or will never be able to rehabilitate.. But alot of these patients are not the sweetest of guys.. I see most of them pretty regularly.. & they look forward to my being there.. They actually can be down right hateful at times.. Bitter & quite like my dad.. They are appreciative of your being there.. in their own way i suppose.. you know.. demanding you cut their hair.. or cussing at you for not playing chess with them last week.. things like that.. So.. we all get a bit of something out of it you see.. they still have someone to yell at & try to boss around.. i still have my hateful old father yelling at me about things that are out of both mine AND his control! & we have our give & take of course.. I make Norman promise to try to NOT fight with Bernard over the fact that his wife ISN'T coming any more.. & remind him that it ISN'T his business really! & I will then make him rice Crispy Treats next week.. I am going to bring in TWO Phillip K. Dick books for Dan if he Promises he'll TRY to get through EVERY Meal ALL week with out slinging his tray because he just gets mad at someone .. although he has NO idea who that is! & he's promising he'll just push away from his food.. & leave it sit there rather then make it hit the floor.. (This is a big one.)
& Fred wants us to learn how to play Rook.. so far.. NO one has the patience for this.. My Vote is still Rummy....
Ok.. well , reckon I should get myself back to work.. The one that i actually get paid for doing.. you know.. the one I HATE!!!!
Behave Girlies!

Not Sure what that little Monkey is up to.. Over doing it at Something i'm sure!!! She was talking about playing outside.. wishing for sunshine earlier.. But I Think she said (dissapointedly) that she still is going to have to wait JUST a wee bit longer before she can actualy put anything in the ground yet.. Maybe she's getting her beds ready though..

Thank you so much for the kind words and thoughts. Everyone here is so great and understanding. My Dad will be having a triple bypass tomorrow... we are in good spirits here and the dr assures us that Dad will be a new man. My Dad is looking forward to feeling better.. he then will have knee replacement surgery in about a couple of months. Thanks again ... |

Katmom, You are a nut, and girl it is chilly out there still, not bad to what it has been.
Cheryl, My dad had a triple bypass 12 years ago and what a difference. Praying for you all. And he will feel so much better.
Linda and all of you sweet girls, how I have missed you. Nope believe it or not, not overdoing and asking for help. Still mess up trying to figure it out. Today is a I want to scream my head off day. Not frustreated not me, this body better get with the program.
Working on getting the minis done. So glad we are giving a lot of grace. Thank you, you have given me some breathing space and the frustration a bit better. That and laughing reading catching up n this thread all 8 pages worth, and I have lots and lots and lots of reading to catch up on the apron thread. Yowzers.
Ok, here was my dictation to my family today, there are no crises, if there are it had better be me!!!!! having it, if you come in all I will say is lalalalalalalalalalalala, I am staying in my pjs so I can't go anywhere with anyone. I will be sewing, I will be getting those minis done and I WILL NOT BE DISTURBED!!!!!!! Laughing yet!!!! Hey sometimes you just have to put your foot down!!!!!!
My sewing room has missed me and oh I have missed being on the stiching threads and chatting with you all. You each cheer my days in different ways and it is needed.
Hey I vote with you Kathie, I got to the recycling center and have used their paint, mising and making messes and sometimes getting a color I want. I did tell honey I think I would like to go get paint I actually picked out with a card. Ahhhh maybe someday.
I have been fixing my bedroom and sewing room more ergonomically correct for me. My bed is at under the bum height. Laugh if you must, but I can get out of my bed without killin off myself doing so. Ohhh is that nice.....darn it lost my whole train of thought....... oh year and Bonnie you would be very proud of me. My machines are older machines and I took apart the tension part of my Pfaff and fixed it!!!!! All by my lonesome, and it works as of today. Perfect timing cause I got to sew those puppies!!!!!!!!! You and that evil Craigslist. I do not need a dozen machines, oh I may want them, but need them, think again, come on I don't have a front porch to put them on.......lol
I am gonna go check out the apron thread, sew some and take a nap. A daily occurence for me....ahhhh the life of leisure....lol

got mine all cut out, except I still need to cut the ties, I'm gonna work on them tonight, i feel bad I'm late(and I'm relieved to see that I'm not holding anything up, I was prepared to drop out), but I've been trying to finish stuff up for my end of the schoolyear evaluation(I always pass with flying colors, but, gotta get the stuff done)

Yay!! Carol Sue congrats on solving the sewing machine dilemna! I think it helps a person bond with one's machine better. Jessica showed me how to have the confidence to tackle basic PM's(preventive maintenance) and repair. Vintage machines have opened up a whole new world of sewing for me.
