Hi all, I am new to this site, I live in a little town in Thomson, IL., population 560, we moved here 4 years ago from Chicago, population, too many. I love to garden, knit, crochet, quilt and read. I have an embroidery machine and do a little of that, not as much as I used too, I belong to a reading club at the library, a quilt guild and also the local Women's club. We really love it here we are just across the street from the Mississippi River about 40 ft up so no worry about flooding, (dreaded work). SO just a hello to all of youse guys.
Diane

Hi all - just found this site and all these kindred spirits!! I've lived on a little farm for years. I love canning, baking, animals, rubber stamping, cookstoves, clawfoot tubs, gardening, did I mention canning? I have a milk cow named Blessing, homeschool my kids, love the Lord and the country life! Exciting things happening at the moment: Blessing stuck her nose on a porcupine a couple weeks ago - ever pull quills out of a COW'S nose?! Yikes. She just freshened with a beautiful heifer calf a week ago...YES!! Cream in my coffee once again! I love reading your notes - there are so few of us 'weird' people who actually like cooking/canning/gardening/milk cows (gasp!) Looking forward to participating. Haven't got it all figured out yet, tho. My computer skills aren't at the same level as my canning skills :-) but I'll keep trying if you'll be patient with me!

Welcome Diane! you sound like a busy farmgirl, you will fit right in.
I am relearning to knit and crochet and am quilting really for the first time. Check out the stiching room forum for the quilt block swaps.

Welcome to you too, Pam! My mom was born in Chehalis.I love canning too. I like to try to can something new each year. This year it was tea and herb jellies. MMMMMMM! Your verse is our famliy motto.
See you girls around the forum! Simply, Julia

Welcome to both Diane and Pam!!! YOu both sound like the rest of us..busy and fun!
Pam..I will no doubt have milk cow questions for you soon! I am bringing home my first cow (a two year old Jersey heifer due to freshen late November-December sometime) I am really excited. Her name is Mona. Poor Blessing with the porcupine quills. I had to pull them out of a dogs face a long time ago when we lived in Minnesota and I hope I never have to do that again. YIkes!!!

Hello all!
I am a rabbit-breeder in beautiful Western Washington! I have raised rabbits for 10 years and LOVE it! I have a 40 hole (cage) rabbitry and approx 80-90 rabbits right now. I also raise Mini Dachshunds, Pygmy Goats, Nubian Goats and Mini Donkeys! I am a farm-girl, as you probably guessed. (grin) I am looking forward to discussing things with everyone!
Have a great day!

Rebecca,
Enjoyed your website - we raise rabbits, too, but on a very small scale - only have 2 now, but would love to branch out into some of the breeds you sell! Also love your messages of salvation. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
