Thanks for all the great comments. As for taking payment, I have a paypal account that allows me to email an invoice to people who want to buy something. Then they just pay their money to my paypal account, from which I can deposit the money into my bank account. I haven't sold anything yet, so I haven't been able to try out the invoices, but I have a friend who says they work great.
