SEE UPDATE AT END!!
The dress in this picture...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/22554961@N00/1887280603/
I am completely in love with this style of dress! I'm not sure what to even call it to try to google the style. I emailed the photographer, but haven't heard anything back.
Help!!
Thanks in advance,
PS I hope the link works! Not exactly sure what I'm doing!

I can only see the back of the dress; are there pictures that I'm missing? From what I can see, if the front is like the back, it should be fairly easy to make without a pattern. Have you checked out Simplicity or Butterick sites? They may have something similar.

No, I just have the picture as is. I am a total newbie at sewing, so I feel like I need a pattern, though I see what you mean that its very simple. I probably could figure it out, but I'd much rather have a pattern! What style would you call it, so I can narrow down key words at the website? I don't have time with my 4 kiddos home this summer to go to a fabric store and search through pattern books.

just ask soul mama the person that posted that picture she is real nice and has a blog all about maing things she even has a book out. If she made it it might be a pattern she made her self but all it is, is wide straps a wide strap around the torso and a few arc pieces for the skirt.

If the straps were long enough that the jumper pulled over your head then you wouldn't have to put a zipper in it. I like pull over jumpers.

They are dressed for Halloween! That looks like a Pipi Longstocking outfit to me!

I was at a JoAnn Fabric store yesterday, checking the Butterick book because their patterns were ninety nine cents. There is a dress pattern there that looks exactly like the back of that jumper--a band, straps, and flared bottom without darts or gathering. |
