It seems like it has taken me forever to get more items listed on etsy, but I finally made it. I spent a few days making some pin cushions and I think they came out cute. The only problem is I have to hide them from my kids because they want to play with them! Now I am starting aprons!

Such pretty pin cushions. You must have a lot of patience. It looks like it would take quite a while to make one. I remember my grandmother having one similar. I always liked it.

Thank you all for the compliments! It's very encouraging!!
Ada Mae, It helps a lot when you have a rotary cutter!!
Elise, I filled them with fiber fill and it seems to take a ton to get them kind of firm!

monica, really nice job, they are charming. i also have made the round "tomato" pin cushion, but mine are not pieced. how do you get them to match up so nicely?
that really increases the labor on them, and when i use just one fabric for the top piece it is labor enough!
i have always used cedar sawdust to fill mine. if you want to try that, it too takes alot of sawdust to fill them, but the sawdust is traded or free and that cuts down on the cost.
i get mine from a friend who has a sawmill, but a fine cabinet shop might also have some to give away.
i also love your painted crafts, you are a talented craft woman and i wish you much success on your etsy site.

Frannie, I have to confess that on a few of them the buttons help cover the imperfection, otherwise you don't sew all the way to the end, but you stop at the same distance from the end when you sew them together.

yes, i too have developed an embellishment to cover up an oops, but i think that is part of the fun and creativity of crafting, dont you. at any rate, the imperfection led you to the button and that was the ideal punctuation mark for your pincushions. but your use of colors and combining the right fabrics are pure magic and not an oops. thanks for sharing your pincushions with us, i will be back to check on them again, and one of my rules is we as crafters are under no obligation to admit our oops,,,,unless we want to.
