DH and I just got back from our little county fair. Still small enough and home town enough to be fun and affordable. The show on stage tonight was Kellie Pickler - we were able to watch the whole show from a nearby sloping field in the fairgrounds without buying a ticket - tickets were all sold out. I was really surprised that she was playing such a small little fair but boy does she ever put on a great show!! She's just a teeny tiny little thing - looks a lot smaller than she did on American Idol. Anyway, fun relaxing evening for dh and I and we spent less than $20 for everything! I was happy for dh to have a nice relaxing evening out, after his recent health scare. He has to go back to the hospital on Monday, but we were able to put that aside for the evening.

Sounds like a great time...we will be doing the same in a couple weeks...our county fair starts on the 18th. Wow...we don't get anyone famous at all at our little fair..but there is a demolition derby...big hit of the fair...and the rodeo of course. I will sure keep your DH in my prayers...good you got to have some fun and relax tonight.

Sounds like fun, Sherri-- Gosh! We went to the Boone County Fair on Wednesday night, and the "entertainment" we got to choose from was karaoke or the Miss Sweetheart beauty pagent (ages 8-11). Apparently, it's absolutely "ok" to dress your daughters TOTALLY inappropriately and have them judged on their looks alone (seriously, they didn't even get to say what their hobbies were!!)...
I love a fair, though, and it sounds like you're county put on a good one!
