Hi, I recently took the plunge and opened an Etsy Shop. There are a lot of great aprons out there and I'm wondering how to "spice up" the aprons I make or find some other item to sew that truly fills a need or a niche.
I'm curious as to what type of handmade items would you like to see on Etsy that aren't there now or that are hard to find, etc.
Thanks!
Hug the ones you love, do what you love and be full of love. Nothing else really matters.

| We were talking the other day over in the Garden Gate forum about contact dermatitis from picking certain kinds of vegetables. This is apparently a fairly common thing, yet at harvest time, in summer, you don't want to wear long-sleeved shirts and gloves. Gloves aren't so bad, 'cause you take them right off when you're done, but shirts are hot and awkward to change with you're done picking veggies, weeding, or whatever. Why not real long, puffy (for ease of movement) cotton "sleeves" with elastic at both ends that you can pull off and wash, just like gloves? They could be in cute gardeny fabrics, with or without fun trims. Elizabethan costumes are often made with separate sleeves. (Remember the song, "Greensleeves"?) Sleeves were once separate apparel items. I'll bet you could find patterns at Internet sites for theatrical or Ren Fair costumes. I'll bet they'd sell! |

oh gosh . .i must admit .. i rarely go to 'etsy' (lordy ..i'm still not up to date on exactly what it is (internet store front i do believe!) if one of the gurlz mentions something in particular that she has posted there .. and give a 'link' to it .. and if it is sumpthin' i'm a-wantin' .. i'll check .. but not regularly .. like e-bay .. is it tooooooooooooo much time to find things you want?
mayhaps ... embellish your vintage aprons with more vintagy items that 'go' .. snippets of lace, tatting, embroidery, buttons. xo
