so far mine would be NYC. My first vist was last Nov. I went with one of my best girlfriends. We won the trip from Good Morning America. We entered a viedo contest and if you won you got roundtrip air, car to pick you up, hotel and got to met our all time favorite band Duran Duran and watch them preform live on GMA!! That being said was the most fab time. Just us gals NO KIDS or HUBBIES!! After we did the GMA and met the band (which I waited 15 yrs for) we saw pretty much EVERYTHING in NYC in a day and half!!!

Mine would either have to Chicago because ther;s lots to do and tons of shopping-----or a nice place we discovered a few years ago called Appleton, Wisconsin. The city was perfect for sidewalk shopping. There are pubs everywhere for good beer sampling, and of course, the people are very nice.
And of course, my home city, Cincinnati where you can taste some of the best local chili and ice cream, (go Graeters!!) see awesome fireworks (coming up Labor Day by the way on the riverfront) and shop 'till you drop |

| I don't like cities much. I prefer woods and water. I did enjoy my visit to Seattle many years ago though. I loved my tour of the "underground" city and my time spent wandering through Pike Street market. Oh, and I visited New Orleans during the World's Fair back in the early 80's. |

I would have to say Estes Park Colorado. The town was small and quaint, the mountains beautiful, and the drive up Trail Ridge was beyond breathtaking!

London!
It's so interesting and there is so much too see there. The tube is so easy to navigate through, and the areas of the city are so diverse. And it just drips with history and museums- so cool!

I think Chicago would be at the top of my list. It is a beautiful and exciting city. San Diego is also a fave. I have to say that our own Atlanta is changing and I am learning to love going downtown.

Cities surely do have their own charm. I can't imagine not being close enough to one so that i can go there for a cultural adventure. And cities truly are unqiue with their own personality. Of course, there is 'good and bad' in both City and Country .. we jus' have to all look for the good that each gives to us.

I have lived in Portland- too fast my liking..I would say now... I love Reno and Carson City. they are both good sized cities but you don't feel like it- the traffic isn't bad at all. And in Carson everything is off of one main street. In Reno everything I needed is right bunched up together.

Ocho Rios Jamaica--we have been all over that island, but that city is my favorite. DH and I want to retire there.

| I love Washington D.C. also. Been there twice and wanting to go again. Next time, I want to spend enough time there to see things other than just the Mall. SOOO much to see. My second pick would be Savanna GA. That could be because we ate at Paula Deen's restraurant, Lady and Son's. |

Mine would be Boulder CO. I have been there several times.. Love the down town shopping square, the easy access to Whole foods, and the greenbelt that surrounds the city.

We have travled across the U.S. and I have to say I am not into the "big city" thing. I enjoy the smaller out of the way places, so I think I would have to say my favorite so far has been Idaho City, Idaho. Although I must say North Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina was fun.

New Orleans! what a great place! I love many cities in Germany too, but I'm having a hard time choosing...I'm not a fan of lots of traffic it really scares me, so I tend to like smaller places. I want to travel the back roads of France in the next few years, but it will mostly be to smaller places...Dublin is a wonderful city too...I was there when I was fairly young and have good memories of it.

Stockholm, Sweden is my most favorite city. Stateside I agree with Star Meadow about Charleston, SC. There's just something special about there. Oh, and I love Cincinnati too.

| Now that I have thought about it, I'll have to add to my favorites. These are towns not cities. Red Cloud NE, Pella IA, Miles City MT. Anyone live near any of those towns? |

Yeess! I'm near Miles City, and I think that is one of my favorite towns too. Everytime I'm in town to do my shopping, I always see people standing on the side walk talking. Just visiting or whatever, makes it feel like a friendly town, and it is. It's big enough that it has everything I need, but small enough that if I have to drive across town to go to a different store, it only takes 5 min.
I also like Casper, WY.. lived near there for a time. Umm been to Washington D.C. and really liked that. I loved seeing all the history there. Went there in school so got to see all the tourist spots.
Van Horne, IA is another fav, but only to me, because that's where my grandparents live and I practicly grew up in that town too, with my cousins and all. It's just a typical small farm town in Iowa and to me it's comming home..
I really don't like big cities... Only to do my shopping and then get out! I love just driving around, seeing what there is to see.

I have to agree with Suzanne. Picking just one city is hard! I'm from back east and in 98' my family plus in-laws traveled to Harper, Kansas for a 50th wedding anniversary. We stopped in Hannibal, Missouri (birth place of Samuel Clemens a.k.a. Mark Twain) and it was fantastic. It's right on the Miss. River which is huge! Baltimore,Md. has parts that are great, Richmond, Va. is beautiful, and Gettysburg, Pa. is also a neat place. But really, if we're thankful for each day, content in where God has us-any place we get to plant our feet can be an opportunity for beholding His beauty-the scenery, the history, and the people!
