My name is Cristina and I'm a new ole' farmgirl. I'm currently living in Hollywood, Fl but we just bought a farm in N.E. Georgia and God willing we'll be moving up there pretty soon. My sister gave me Maryjane's book because she couldn't believe how much of "me" there was in it. Actually, I was delighted to find that there were so many of us, farmgirls, out there. It was truly providential that I found you folks when I did.

Everytime I open Maryjane's book or read one of your postings, I get the feeling of coming home.
Thank you all,
Cristina

Welcome Christina!
I've been through Hollywood, Fl... I bet you are so glad to be moving to the country! I use to live near Brunswich, GA for a couple of years. I loved camping in north GA and would do it anyday. Have you seen Madison, GA? It's so pretty and cute.
I hope you have a great time going country!

Welcome, welcome, Cristina. I'm about an hour from Cleveland. You'll enjoy North Georgia. My husband moved here from Hollywood. After a few visits, his sister and her family moved up. Next, his parents came on up. They seem to enjoy fall's colors and spring's blossoms the best. Let us know when you get settled, we'll need to get a north Georgia chapter going.

Hey Cristina! Welcome! I spotted MJ's book at the bookstore, picked it up, and had a hard time putting it back down! So many great ideas! And all the girls on here are so wonderful and encouraging! Good luck with your farm!
Much love,

Thank you all for your kind and warm words. Our new farm is situated in Cleveland, Georgia. Just about 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta. We've been visiting that part of Georgia for several years...always dreaming about the farm we'd love to have there. Well, we just got darn tired of dreaming and decided to make those dreams real as best as we could. So we took a trip this past October and there it was. Just waiting for us... a lovely 7 acre farm. The previous owners are German Baptist Brethren and they had the home built like an 1800's farm house. The house had everything I could have wanted and I just knew it was to be our home the minute I walked inside. The property has a meandering creek and a number of springheads which will hopefully provide for a nice pond for the animals.

We hope to sell our home here soon and get ourselves up there before Spring comes strolling through. Hollywood is just south of Fort Lauderdale and we had our share of nasty hurricanes blowing through here this past fall which kind of delayed our plans for moving. But as soon as we're up there, you are all invited to visit with me if you can. I would love to meet each one of you in person.

Again, thank you all for opening your arms to me and I hope to get to share with you some more real soon.
Cristina

Hey Christina - welcome north! I just moved from Tampa Florida to NW GA about 8 months ago. Absolutely love it.

We're working on creating a North GA chapter - would you be interested?

Welcome Cristina! Glad to have you on board. Maryjane's book is on my coffee table for easy access, which is accessed often. It does make a great coffe table book just for the pictures, but oh the information!
